Aliens and the marriage declaration procedures in a country
You shall enquire of the marriage declaration procedures to an authorized organization (embassy) of the corresponding country since a marriage declaration shall be conducted according to the laws of the country. You will be allowed to be issued with a certificate of conditions to get married from an office of family census register in Korea. And you documents for marriage shall be translated into acorresponding language and undergone a notarization.
Description on the family census register in Korea
When your marriage will have been declared either in a foreign country or in Korea according to the civil law, then you will proceed the marriage declaration to another country within one month by post or in person. When another country will be Korea, the process will be to describe your marriage fact on your family census register when you shall hold a duplicate of marriage certification and its translation intoKorean.
Moving in of an alien on Korean family census register
The married alien will not allowed to move in the Korean family census register as soon as he (she) will have married with a Korean since he (she) will not acquire the Korean nationality immediately. In order to make an alien married with a Korean to acquire the Korean nationality by denouncing his original nationality, he (she) shall acquire the Korean nationality using the method of neutralization pursuant to the Law of nationality in Korea. Please contact to the corresponding department of the Ministry of Justice concerning more information on the procedures of acquisition of Korean nationality and visa issuanceprior to an acquisition of Korean nationality.
