In case that both of the parents will be aliens
An alien who will be born in Korea shall be granted with a stay qualification within 30 days from the birth date. You will file it to Incheon Immigration Office preparing with passport of child, certificate of birth, duplicate of family census register (for a person with double nationalities), father’s certificate ofemployment, 2 photos with size of 3.5cmx4.5cm, and fee of KRW 5,000.
In case that one of the parents will be alien
The Law of Nationality in Korea amended on June 14, 1998 stipulates that a child whose one of the parents is Korean at the time of birth shall be acquired with the Korean nationality. As you are a Korean, your child will have get acquired the Korean nationality at the time of birth automatically without requiring any procedures to acquire the nationality. Therefore, the declaration of birth to an office of family census register of your permanent address will be all enough to it. But if you are the wife of the marriage declared husband and wife, your husband’s name will be described on the census register of your child, but if you are not the wife of the marriage declared husband and wife, your husband’s name will not be described on the census register of your child.
