A scholar and politician during the middle period of Chosun dynasty, Jeong Saho made great achievements in defeating Japanese forces during their second invasion in 1597 as the Chief officer of Andong, together with the forces of Myong dynasty and had been appointed five times to the post of Daesaheon (the Chief Prosecutor) of Saheonbu since 1601. He also successively served the post of Guanchalsa (the Governor) of Hwanghae, Gyeongsang, Pyeongan and Gyeonggi Provinces. As the combined minister of Yijo (Ministry of Government Affairs) and Dongji Chunchu, he also participated in editing the chronicles of King Sejo.
